Pandapon Chronicles and RL
Nov. 5th, 2007 11:39 amI’m finally writing about last week, it was so busy I can barely keep my eyes open today. Right now I’m trying to forget the chilling cold outside with a hot tea and it really helps :)
Well, first of all, I finally came back to work (yeah, I’m in front of my office desktop right now), it happened last Tuesday and I was scared as hell, afraid I’d be fired before I could even set a feet inside the office. But lucky or not, I was not, and I’m still here, stealing internet XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
The best part was that I only had to work a pair of days, as 1st and 2nd of November were holidays for me, and we had tickets to fly to Barcelona for the Barcelona Manga Con, so thanks to
setsuka( and her parents!) and
thorbadin who were kind enough as to share a bed with us and babysit us bothXD.
On Friday, we got to the Barcelona Airport, really confused as the train system has been eventually closed dued to security stuff, so we had to take a bus to get to the city. Once there, we met them and started the visit, as we do every time we go, to every comic and manga shop we knowXD Well, this time it wasn’t as I expected, honestly, Ebay kills every chance of finding something interesting enough to buy out of the net, so I saved my money for the Convention next day. The day was warm and calm compared to Madrid, so I didn’t even need my coat which was nice.
On Saturday, we got up at 8:00, took a bus to Barcelona and Metro right to the Con’s door. Dressed as Nick Wright, we had to met with
studiokawaii,
strasayu,
aviss, and
nyaar. Nome nice people asked for some photos before the rest arrived, but when the whole group met, we could barely walk: two steps….someone asking for a photo, another one “oh please, can I take a photo???”. The funniest part, anyway, was when someone kept staring at us and wouldn’t dare to ask, or when someone took some furtive snaps of us, as if we wouldn’t want them to take photos, (we would have posed happily if they asked!). If someone from my friendlist has (or finds) any photo of us, please, PLEASE send!
We also met the Line Magazine staff and we even signed as authors! (Although our story’s first chapter is not out until December). We had a great time, met our editors, got some merchandising (we’ll get a sample of everything after the Con.) and many copies of the magazine. If anybody wants a subscription (25€ per year) and you’re not from Spain, they told me it’s possible to ship internationally, but first send them an email, please, so the can calculate the shipping costs! We were happy and satisfied. :3 I bought a nana ring and a new wallet, I couldn’t find a nice calendar for next year. Also, we had a nice time with
hentaiosa and
incom2 and Cait having a coffee and a little chat before returning to the stand for the signs session.
On Sunday we spent the day relaxing and watching videos on Youtube before going back to the airport, where our flight was delayed…..of course. So we barely had 5 hours to sleep.
