Dear, I finally made it^^ so i hope yo enjoy it!

We start from our start point: Atocha station, very centered in Madrid and it's where I start every day after going down of the train that takes me from home to Madrid.

Beleve it or not, this is also part of the station.....Inside, a lot of trains to evey part of Spain are taken, but also, there is place for this little show of splendid nature^__^

forget about the Graffitti, I thoguht I'd be interesting to show you one of the many mail boxes in Madrid, as it's a thing that it's different in every city of the world.

This busy Street is called Gran vía, the most important road in the downtown, it's ALWAYS full of people and cars, even at night.

the same place, from the apposite view.

If you walk down Gran vía, you can find places like this. the Metropolis building is property of "Metropolis Insurance, Inc". And it hs been the inspiration of many artist. Curiously, in that left side of the street, the círculo de Bellas Artes(Fine arts group) has it's headquarters.

Here, Cibeles Square "plaza de Cibeles" ,right after Gran Vía. This fountain is the symbol of Madrid. Sadly, everytime our local football team (Real Madrid) wins a championship, all the players stomps over the monument...-_-. I love this place.

this, walking a bit more, we can found buildings as this one...this is Madrid's Stock Market....

Oh almost forgot!!!!XD This may make you laugh! ( all indications of monuments are starting to look like this one)

this is "La Puerta de Alcalá", roughly translated as "Alcalá's Gate", another symbol of Madrid. In fact both Puerta de Alcalá and Cibeles can be shoot in one single photo from an speciphic point and it looks as if the fountain were under the Gate.

Ooooh, Callao Square. hehe, this place...I think it's the meeting place for almost all people who wants to go for a walk in the downtown. the big buindings are Stores.

Have you ever wondered how Underground is in Madrid? Here, a shoot from the inside...

...and the outside!

Famous Ventas bullring, the most important one in the country. I hate bullfighting, but the place is just beautiful.

Oh my, look at that temperature....it's, of course, wrong, but we can reach that and more in August.

A Neighboorhood under construction..this is the sight at my parent's place windows.

this is the "Army Museum" from the outside....^^ Lors of armors and ancient weapons there.

The Liria Palace, right in front of my jobplace. this used to be the residence of the Duchess of Alba, the person who holds the largest amount of noblity titles,( even more than the King), in the world!!

One modern part of Madrid... Plaza de Castilla ( no, not the japanese cakesXD).

"Plaza de España". there is a Don Quijote Statue here ( the same one that is copied in Tokyo's Parquespaña!), and many fountains^^ it's a great little park to be cool.

tha same place^^

Preciados Street, there used to be a very famouses department store here, but now there another one even bigger...in summer they place pieces of clothes in the top to protect people from the sunlight and hot.^^

This statue is one you can find very close to Liria. Randomness is coolXD

Let's end with my favourite park. Retiro Park. this is an example of the interest that Madrid got into Egyptian art around XVIIth and XIXth century...we also have a Egyptian Temple, but I didn't get photos of it, Tell me if you'd want to see it.

One of the main walks, I love this park, I'll just post every photo so you can see how wonderful it is.

Veleazquez's Palace

and that's all, I didn't get Royal Palace and many other places, but...^^u If you want to see them, just ask and let me see what can be done, ok?

I hope you enjoyed the trip;)

Madrid is not humid, quite the contrary. is so hoy you could fry an egg on the floor sometimes...and 47ºC sometimes is nothing, In Seville you can't go out till night because it's too hot to do so.
I have loved the Center of Madrid since I was a little girl. My family always went on Christmas time around there, what is all with lights, and a lot of stands with presents, joke articles and stuff it is VERY nice.
For your info, Madrid's typical breakfast is hot choco( veeeeeery dense choco) with churros ( wich is a sugary "bread", I'd define it more as a pasta.....imagine a pretzel, but soft and sweet and squeezyXD.

Retiro parks is just a wonderful place, it's called "Retiro" (Retirement) because Kings and wueens of the XVIIth Century builded it for Retire the summer time...it was not in the city then....and now it's in the centerXDDD
oh, here's antoher photo for you

One of the sweetest stores I've ever seen

Castilla is a place in Spain, and was the main Kingdom back at the time of the Discovery of America, it's a plain place with lots of interesting places to visit and a lot of important towns, very historic.

If you ever decide to come, here you have a place to stay^^ you could stay with us at home!

Ah, outdoor-cooking fun! Best of all, it's energy savvy. :-)

Hot choco + churros for breakfast? I think I might suffer from an insulin shock. :-) I've seen churros before, in California, where I remember there were many Mexican restaurants. Never tried one, though.

Loved the pic of the sweet store! I don't eat sweet often, but I love browsing funky candy stores and cake shops. The little confectionaries are so exotic, elegant, and pretty.

Here's a pic of "Castilla"(カステラ) cake.

From http://www.shooken.com/

The ones that I've tried are too sweet to my taste - like a floury block of sugar. Most of the Japanese sweets are too sweet for me - perhaps it's because Japanese people like to eat their sweets with powdered green tea, which is intensely bitter.

Thank you very much for offering me a place to stay, sweetie. And if you ever decided to come visit Japan, you know who to call. :-)
